Pirelli Begins 2010 Performance Centre Audit
Pirelli has commenced the second phase of its 2010 Pirelli Performance Centre (PPC) technical auditing process in the UK and Ireland, with the highest scoring depots set to be nominated for the prestigious title of Pirelli Performance Centre of the Year 2010. Pirelli developed the performance centre accreditation scheme to provide a network of dealers with the highest technical standards and commitment to customer service in order to instil confidence into Pirelli’s end users.
There are currently 66 PPCs across the UK and Ireland, with further new distributors being audited to gain entrance to the prestigious club this month. In order to become and remain accredited as a PPC, tyre dealers are audited by experienced Pirelli service engineers on a bi-annual basis. Any dealer that fails to meet the high technical standards associated with PPC’s 130 point auditing process is automatically removed from the Club.
Following the technical auditing process, the three PPCs with the highest scores are audited by an independent video mystery shopper in December to assess their levels of customer service. The highest scoring depot is to be awarded PPC of the year status in January 2011 and, in addition to receiving the accolade itself, will be awarded with a Pirelli clothing package for all staff; use of the Pirelli simulator and national and regional promotion.
Cliff Crane, managing director of Jet Wheel Tyre in Essex, Winner of 2009’s Pirelli Performance Centre of the Year, compared winning PPC of the Year to topping the premiership table. He said: “We were only a Pirelli Performance Centre for a year before being awarded with the PPC of the Year title, but have noticed that staff motivation has increased dramatically as a result. Winning PPC of the Year in 2009 has been a real driving force for us, making us think and act more professionally. Gaining the award is acknowledgement that we are one of the very best centres in the UK, which is a real boost for everyone here.”
Dominic Sandivasci, managing director of Pirelli Tyre UK, explains the concept behind PPC: “The objective of the Pirelli Performance Centre scheme is to provide a network of dealers with high technical levels and commitment to service allowing Pirelli, when asked, to confidently direct drivers of High Performance cars to the depots with the highest standards. The bar has certainly been raised this year, with a record number of dealers requesting to be audited and enter the club. As the first tyre manufacturer in the UK to introduce such a scheme, dealers and drivers alike, recognise the prestige that comes with endorsement from such a well known, performance brand. I wish the best of luck to all those depots that are in the running for the 2010 title – may the best dealer win!”
