Pirelli Appoints New UK Truck Business Director

An important personnel change took place at Pirelli Tyres Ltd on October 1, namely Chris Evans’ appointment to the position of director of Truck Business, UK. In his new role, Evans will report directly to national managing director Dominic Sandivasci and functionally to the company’s headquarters in Milan.

Evans’ prior experience lies both in the truck and passenger car tyre segments, and Pirelli describes him as a vastly experienced member of its management team. His appointment is seen by the tyre maker as a “major strengthening” of Pirelli’s UK truck team, which the company says will continue its focus on and penetration of the UK commercial vehicle market that began in 2009 with the launch of seven new products, including the UK specific ‘:01’ series. Pirelli states this strengthening will continue through “major investment” planned over the next years.
