Former TRIB Boss Brodsky Starts News Association
While interim TRIB managing director, Marvin Bozarth was writing to the retreading association’s membership introducing himself, his predecessor Harvey Brodsky has been busy forming another association. According to online news reports, Brodsky has formed his own retreading organization. Like TRIB this new association – the Retread Tire Association – is said to be a non-profit, 501(c)(6) entity that is “dedicated to promoting and expanding retreading and proper tyre repairing throughout the world, with no closed doors and no closed meetings.”
Back to TRIB’s new interim MD: In an email to members dated 23 October, Marvin Bozarth introduced himself as someone with 52 years in the industry and 12 years as the managing director of ARA and ITRA, explaining that TRIB’s board of directors had asked him to take over while they search for a new MD.
He also sought to clear up “any confusion” relating to the association’s annual membership meeting: “In a communication on 3 October 2010, you were informed that there would be a TRIB membership meeting in Las Vegas on 2 November 2010. The TRIB by-laws call for one annual membership meeting. That meeting was held in Louisville on 24 March 2010, in conjunction with the mid-American Truck Show. The next TRIB membership meeting will be held in March 2011 in Louisville in conjunction with the 2011 Truck Show.”
