Fired – Harvey Brodsky Dismissed by TRIB Board of Directors
Long-time champion of the retreading industry, Harvey Brodsky, was notified on October 5 that his services as managing director of the Tire Retread & Repair Information Bureau were no longer required. Announcing his own dismissal in a press release, Mr. Brodsky stated that “during a conference call today called by TRIB president Mike Berra, Jr. at 2pm Pacific Time (GMT -7:00), and including Bob Majewski and Wayne Jackson of the TRIB Board, I was informed that today would be my last day as the managing director of TRIB.
“I was not pleased with their decision but I serve at the pleasure of the Board, or at least I did until a few minutes ago,” Brodsky continued. “Having spent the better part of my career defending and promoting the retread industry I am very disappointed at the Board’s decision which I believe is extremely ill advised. During my nearly 30 years as the managing director of TRIB I have made many friends in the retread and tyre repair industries and I thank them for their support during the many years we worked together. I hope to see many of them again as time goes by.”
Harvey Brodsky took on the role of TRIB managing director in 1981 and has overseen the organisation’s growth into an association of some 500 members in more than 50 countries.
