Effiplus Makes its UK Debut at Brityrex
Giving the range its UK debut at Brityrex (following a European launch at Reifen Essen in June and the initial unveiling at Reifen China last December), Techking’s aim is to place the Effiplus brand at the top of the budget segment with a view to progressing into the economy sector within the next five years. To this end, the company used its position at Brityrex as platform for attracting new distribution partners. The company’s strategy right across Europe is to offer its partners exclusivity in the various markets it works in, but company representatives also recognised that in some mature markets like the UK this it not always possible. While Techking is said to prefer to the model of offering exclusivity to a single partner, one idea is to divide the market between two or three regionally exclusive distribution partners, if necessary.
It appears the current goal is to develop the company’s Effiplus fuel efficiency optimised passenger car tyre range into its latest growth area. The new product line covers four different kinds of tyres, including regular passenger car summer tyres, SUV tyres, winter tyres and ultra high performance tyres with the Effiplus engineering team focusing on “developing car tyres that consume less fuel, run more quietly and perform more eco-friendly.”
The new European marketing department probably sums up the philosophy behind Effiplus: “On the edge of energy shortage, the world itself is not as powerful as it used to be…The name “Effiplus” shows the determination of Techking to produce greener passenger car tyres for the industry as well as the global consumers…With these great advantages [the] sky is the limit. Effiplus lines of passenger car tires are headed to delivering something which cannot be evaluated only by money.”
The recent news of the ISO accreditation together with the fact that Techking has registered its brand in more than 165 countries, with more than 46 patents demonstrates the company’s global ambitions. Techking reports that it serves 105 countries and is also a proud supplier of “up to 10 large OE manufacturers at home and abroad.” The challenge facing the company now is transfer its brand’s associations with OTR tyres and technology into a reputation for quality passenger car and truck and bus tyre products.
