Cooper Tire Sponsors Bull Riders for Breast Cancer Charity
Cooper Tire is getting involved with The Breast Cancer Research Foundation’s October “Think Pink” campaign in the USA. “Cooper is thrilled to join hands with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation to support and raise awareness of this disease that affects not only women, but the men in their lives, as well,” said Dave Craig, Cooper's director of channel and consumer development. “The Professional Bull Riders is a wonderful demonstration of this, proving that men are just as passionate about fighting breast cancer and are not afraid to show their true colours — pink.”
The Professional Bull Riders are inviting their top-ranked Cowboys to the heart of New York City’s Times Square on today for an extra round this season. Outfitted in specially designed chaps with the BCRF’s signature pink ribbon, the Cooper Tire Cowboys will ride for a cure on the fiercest bucking bulls. For every second the Cooper Tire-sponsored Cowboys ride, BCRF will receive a donation, proving real men do wear pink. Bull-riding fans will also be given the opportunity to donate by participating in a text-to-give program.
Currently, there are 2.5 million breast cancer survivors in the United States, including women still being treated. Raising more than $290 million since its inception in 1993, BCRF’s goal is to achieve prevention and a cure for breast cancer. As it is the second-leading cause of cancer death in women, breast cancer affects not only its victims, but their families, making this disease one which many are personally linked to.
