Watts Tyre Group Passes ISO 14001 Assessment
In the past year Watts Tyre Group has attained the new ISO 9001:2008 standard and renewed its Approved Supplier status from Toyota Industrial Equipment SA, and now the UK based industrial tyre and wheel producer reports it has again passed the ongoing assessment for ISO 14001:2004 and its Environmental Management system. In announcing this latest achievement, company CEO Jean-Paul Mindermann commented “our quality accreditations are very important to us as a business and we are delighted that we continue to keep our standards high. As a key supplier to the world’s leading materials handling manufacturers it is vital for us to ensure that the quality of our products and processes is world class.
“Quality sits at the heart of what we do,” Mindermann added. “We have held ISO 9001 Quality Management in its various forms since 1990 and have held ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management Systems since 2009. In 2009 the Lydney, UK based activities of Interfit were included in the scope of both our ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 certification. Our customers demand quality of product and service and it remains clear to us that in order to meet that expectation quality can’t be something left to chance.”
At the start of the year the company launched its Interfit international service business in the UK, Germany and France. In June the operation was expanded into the Czech Republic, and following a set-up period operations are expected to commence in September. “Following the successful launch of Interfit in the UK, France and Germany we are delighted to announce our move into the Czech Republic,” said Mindermann. “Interfit is a business built on the simple concept of service excellence and we are very excited about taking the business into new territories.”
