Trelleborg Launches New Twin Radial Tyre
Trelleborg Wheel Systems has launched a new 710/50 R26.5 twin radial tyre. According to the company, the new product offers enhanced flotation characteristics that protect the soil, the driver’s health, lowers noise levels and contributes to reduced overall operating costs for the farmer. The twin radial features a 15 per cent wider footprint area, additional lugs and a longer central block compared to the previous version. This means an increased land/sea ratio and 14 per cent deeper lugs.
“Over time high levels of noise, may cause health problems to farmers and the movement of agricultural machines, especially in towns or villages, contributes significantly to noise pollution,” says Daniele Lorenzetti, VP research and development of Trelleborg Agriculture Division. “Tests were carried out on the 710/50 R26.5 for both tyre noise and pass-by noise. Trelleborg tyres demonstrated a significantly lower noise level than competitors’ tyres both at 40 and 50 kilometres per hour, with nominal pressure of four bars and 4,000 kilogram load per tyre.”
The Trelleborg twin radial range is comprised of ten sizes. Trelleborg says the range’s main benefits are “outstanding rider comfort, even wear, excellent self-cleaning, reduced fuel consumption and unrivalled ground care.”
