South Manchester Tyre Fire
Firefighters have been called to a large blaze in a Manchester tyre yard. According to the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, emergency services were notified of a fire in Sandfold Lane, Levenshulme just after 6:15am on September 13. At the height of the fire more than 50 firefighters were in attendance, tackling the blaze using large jets and a number of aerial appliances. The fire is said to involve “an extremely large number of tyres” and cover a 150 square metre area.
