Snap-On Introduces New Battery Charger
Snap-on Tools has announced the introduction of its latest, most advanced battery charging system – the EEBC500UK Battery Charger. “The EEBC500UK has many improved features,” says Aldo Rodi, UK managing director of Snap-on Tools, “including a higher working height handle which makes using this battery charger easier on the back compared to other models. It also provides increased efficiency as it has both positive and negative leads which can be replaced in the field and a new handy storage compartment which provides quicker access to optional battery hand tools. We are also offering a minimum £100 trade in on any old chargers, so making the new EEBC500UK even more attractive to garages.”
With car batteries now called upon to power a growing list of accessories (such as DVD players and heated seats) as well as more sophisticated engine and body management systems, the highly powerful – with 300amp engine starting power – EEBC500UK allows garages better versatility, charging 6, 12 and 24-volt batteries with 4, 15 and 60-amp charging rates. It is also highly adaptive, with different charging cycles for each type of battery – Standard, Deep-cycle, AGM and Gel Cell.
The EEBC500UK has a fully automatic operation where the microprocessor controlled algorithms optimise the charge cycle without overcharging. There is also a manual mode for timed charging. Required by a growing number of vehicle manufacturers, the EEBC500UK supports ECU ‘Flash Reprogramming’ acting as a power supply so as to maintain a consistent OEM specified voltage of 13 – 14.8 VDC. It also has a very advanced digital display – showing voltage, percentage of charge and alternator percentage of performance.
