Manbat – Delivering Choice with Multi-brand Portfolio
For more than 30 years Manbat has been the primary distributor of Varta batteries to the UK aftermarket. The Varta brand has developed a strong reputation and is the preferred OEM supplier for numerous European vehicle manufacturers. Alongside Varta, Manbat is also the sole supplier of the Lucas and Numax brands.
Manbat describes Lucas as a brand that provides excellent opportunities for distributors to supply a comprehensive range of high quality products with a good profit margin, and for workshops to fit a reliable product that is truly up to the task. The range starts with Lucas ‘Classic’ and the specifications then progressively increase with the matching OE specification ‘Premium’, followed by ‘Supreme’, which Manbat notes actually exceeds OE specification.
With the growth in the number of new vehicles that are available with start-stop technology, major battery manufacturers have seen the necessity to also offer an AGM replacement, but Manbat is confident that of these products few can match the quality of the Lucas Fusion. Its AGM technology, the battery supplier points out, yields 50 per cent more starting power than the equivalent ‘wet’ battery and with a totally sealed case and a deep cycle capability, the Fusion is the ‘king’ of batteries.
The Numax brand is intended to provide workshops with premium quality products at great value. The range covers 98 per cent of the UK vehicle parc and also includes six types of AGM battery, as well as a traditional hard rubber ‘classic car’ range. Therefore Manbat is confident that finding the right battery for the job will pose no problem with Numax.
Modern battery chargers that use ‘smart’ or ‘intelligent’ technology, like the Numax ‘connect & forget’ range, utilise state-of-the-art electronics to constantly monitor the battery during the charging period to ensure that the battery receives the correct rate of charge throughout the charging cycle. Once the battery is charged, these chargers can even be left connected without causing any damage to the battery or the charger. In fact, by keeping it connected, the charger will monitor and maintain the battery at its optimum condition indefinitely.
