MAM: Linking the Supply Chain
MAM Software's new range of e-commerce solutions is banking on its ability to improve customer service and increase the efficiency of transactions both up and down tyre distributors’ and retailer’ supply chain. By handling purchases and sales electronically, MAM's e-commerce solutions are designed to speed-up responses, reduce errors and cut administrative overheads, say company representatives.
MAM’s ‘buy-side’ e-commerce solution allows businesses to trade electronically with a wide range of tyre manufacturers, from directly within its Autopart management software. Employing the common EDIwheel standard, users can easily retrieve real-time stock availability, place immediate purchase orders and receive real-time, line-level, acknowledgements.
MAM’s ‘sell-side’ e-commerce solutions cater for both business (B2B) and consumer (B2C) sales. Trade sales are conducted through a secure ordering ‘portal’, which provides real-time stock availability and customer-specific pricing. Retail sales are undertaken via a ‘webshop’, which features a visual catalogue and secure online payments. Both solutions connect directly to MAM’s Autopart management software, enabling orders to appear in point-of-sale or automatically processed.
“Our e-commerce solutions empower businesses to conduct transactions electronically and to become more efficient” said Steve Page, MAM’s National Sales Manager for Tyre Products and Services. “They help companies enhance their competitiveness as 24-hour ordering and automated replies expand operational flexibility and increase responsiveness. Efficiency is improved too, by lowering personnel requirements and reducing transaction costs.”
“Our e-commerce solutions are well established in the automotive aftermarket. Hundreds of our customers regularly use the services to buy and sell thousands of items every day. The efficiency and manpower savings are tremendous. Now the tyre trade can take full advantage and benefit as well” Steve Page explained.
For more information, visit MAM at October’s Brityrex exhibition in Manchester. MAM Software representatives will be on hand at stand 59 to offer practical help and advice, as well as demonstrate the latest developments in its software.
