Former Goodyear India Chairman Dies
V. Narayanan, former chairman of Goodyear India, died September 14 at his home in Chennai. He was 91.
Narayanan joined the tyre maker as a junior staffer, and rose through the ranks to become an elected board member as well as managing director and chairman of the company. After his retirement from Goodyear in 1988, Narayanan turned his attention to community service, founding the Chennai Willingdon Corporate Foundation and the Ashavattha Charitable Trust, both of which focused on rebuilding neighbourhoods and temples.
He is survived by his wife, Visalakshi, his daughter and son-in-law, a daughter-in-law and several grandchildren. Tire Review
