Expanded MOT Coverage a ‘Natural Step Forward’ for ATS Euromaster
Plans to increase the number of ATS Euromaster outlets equipped for MOT testing are “on target”, the fast-fitter reports. By the end of the year 100 centres throughout the UK will be able to offer an MOT test service, an increase of 20 per cent. ATS Euromaster says a similar increase is scheduled for 2011.
Installation of new MOT test bays and the company’s rollout drive during 2010 and 2011 is taking place as part of a strategic move to offer additional service, maintenance and repair (SMR) facilities for both the fleet sector and private motorists. “Expanding our MOT coverage is a natural step forward for the business,” explains ATS Euromaster group marketing director Huw Williams. “The increase in the number of company vehicles being kept beyond three years means many more businesses are now requiring MOTs for their fleet. Fleet managers are under increasing pressure to trim running costs, and by ramping up our SMR offering, we can help them to meet that challenge head-on.”
The growth in MOT availability follows the company’s investment in Bosch diagnostic equipment across the ATS Euromaster network. With the aid of the Bosch apparatus the company’s technicians are better equipped to read error codes, carry out complex fault diagnostics and service electronic braking systems on the latest car and van models from most, if not all, manufacturers – ATS Euromaster notes this capability provides a flexible and low-cost alternative to visiting a main dealer.
During the course of this year ATS Euromaster also introduced air-conditioning servicing at eleven of its centres on a trial basis. If the service proves popular, this will be rolled out across the network during 2011.
