Cooper Tire Plant Marks Safety Achievement
Cooper Tire’s Tupelo factory in the US state of Mississippi has achieved a million man-hours without recording a single lost time injury. The tyre maker states this milestone “demonstrates the company's commitment to the highest standards of safety performance and its desire to create a safer working environment.”
“Tupelo has set an unprecedented safety achievement for North America by achieving one million man-hours without a lost time injury,” said Cooper Tire chairman, president and CEO Roy Armes. “This significant milestone exemplifies the respect our employees have for safety – both the safety and well-being of their co-workers as well as the safety and well-being of the customers who buy our products and trust in the quality we deliver to them.”
In announcing the arrival at the million man-hour point, Cooper comments that safety is an integral part of its company culture and what has been achieved in Tupelo “is proof of the company’s continued commitment to sustaining processes and practices that result in the highest safety and security standards.”
“The one million man-hours without lost-time injury accomplishment speaks for itself,” said Pat Jodon, plant manager at the Tupelo facility. “This safety milestone represents the dedication and diligence that our employees have toward maintaining a safe work environment. This was truly a group effort and I applaud our team for their continued diligence and commitment toward safety.”
