Cam Systems’ MIDaS B2B Platform on Track for £200m Milestone
Cam Systems’ MIDaS B2B, the online ordering platform for tyre wholesalers, is on track to hit £200 million in annual sales by December 2010 across its client base. According to the IT-provider, the rise in online transactions is a result of its use by tyre wholesalers as a key sales process enabler in conjunction with their retailer partners. The MIDaS managed service enables the acceleration of the ordering process between the retailer and wholesaler considerably. Cam also says it is easy to implement, informative and accurate.
MIDaS enables retailers to view available wholesaler stock, check prices and place orders online. The platform automatically generates an order on behalf of the client and can be accessed by customers at any time of day. Working with the company to provide an online offering to partners, Cam says wholesalers can deliver enormous savings in operator time, vastly improve customer service and introduce new levels of administrative efficiency into their trading network.
The growth of MIDaS across the industry has been described by Cam as significant, with more than 32,000 end users transacting an average of well over £16 million pounds worth of monthly tyre sales this calendar year-to-date. The company believes that this growth highlights the importance tyre retailers and wholesalers are placing on gaining efficiencies and speeding up processes significantly by conducting their business with trade partners in real time.
Mike Allen, managing director at Cam Systems, adds: “We have been providing fully integrated ordering systems for many years now and the success of MIDaS is evident in the transaction volumes it now manages. MIDaS clearly continues to offer real value to our wholesale customers.”
