Bush Tyres Opens Goole Retail Centre

With the opening of a new depot in Goole, near Selby, tyre retail group BA Bush & Son has increased its network of outlets in Lincolnshire, Humberside and East Yorkshire to 17. The family-owned company – whose wholesale arm B.A.B. Distribution is a member of Grouptyre – is continuing its strategy of investing for the future with this new centre, which represents the fourth new Bush Tyres site in the last 18 months.

Bush Tyres of Goole is located in an industrial area close to the town centre and enjoys good road links via the M62 and M180.  Previously a large warehouse, the building has been completely remodelled – the introduction of a mezzanine will help maximise the storage space across two storeys and a light and airy customer reception has been added.  It is also fitted out with the latest racking and fitting equipment.

“We have a lot of commercial vehicle accounts in the area and by opening a new retail facility in Goole we will be able to maximise our overall stockholding capabilities so that we can improve our service to customers throughout East Yorkshire,” says director Thomas Bush.

“Having launched a new retail centre in Bourne in April last year, opened our flagship Spalding outlet a year ago and acquired a second Spalding centre in February this year we are on course to grow our network to 20 retail centres, potentially more if we can identify appropriate sites.”

Bush Tyres of Goole will stock a mix of truck, tractor and car tyres to the value of £250,000 and will provide a complete one stop solution for tyres including fitting, valve balancing and disposal, as well as a range of alloy wheels.  In addition, it will offer batteries, brakes, exhausts and suspension alignment plus agricultural and commercial vehicle servicing.

The centre’s proximity to the motorway network means Bush Tyres can also enhance its breakdown service to operators of commercial vehicle fleets and improve product supply to its retail tyre centres in Hull, Beverly and Scunthorpe.

In the long term BA Bush aims to employ 8-10 staff at Goole and says this latest phase of its expansion programme will create new jobs as well as promotion prospects for the existing team.

Originally founded as a cycle tyre company, today Bush Tyres is a fourth generation business which has evolved into the leading provider of tyre, battery, brakes and exhaust services throughout Lincolnshire, Humberside and East Yorkshire.  The company, including its wholesale operation  B.A.B. Distribution, is owned and managed by Nigel Bush, grandson of founder Benjamin Arthur Bush, and his sons Ben and Thomas and employs around 170 staff.
