Sumo Firenza Offers Broadening Size Range

The Sumo Firenza brand is continuing on its strategy of being a competitive option within the truck tyre market in both Europe and the UK, according to global distributor Singapore-based Stamford Tyres. In the UK Sumo Firenza truck tyres are exclusively distributed by West Midlands based International Tyres.

Company representatives attribute the brand’s progression to face that its products incorporate Japanese technology and are manufactured in the Far East. In addition Sumo Firenza’s truck tyre portfolio offers a growing size range plus a broadening choice for the Super Singles market.

Sumo Firenza’s SSD08 pattern is recommended for all driving positions and provides exceptional traction for ultimate control on every type of road surface and all weather conditions through a solid shoulder construction with zero angle steel band ply that protects irregular wear. A wide tread and very hard compound are said to enable “impressive mileage return” and the size range encompasses seven options from 11R22.5 to 315/80R22.5

The Sumo Firenza SSM07 and SSM07A patterns have been specifically designed for all-position use and include a new tread compound designed to reduce heating and cut resistance in demanding road conditions. The range is available in four sizes for the SSM07 from 900R20 to 1200R20 and another four sizes from 11R22.5 to 315/80R22.5 for the SSM07A.

In the highway and trailer sector the Sumo Firenza SSR05A offers thirteen sizes from 295/60R22.5 16PR through to 10.00R20 16PR and incorporates a flatter and wider tread profile for mileage return and smooth ride handling on all road surfaces. The SSR055A and SSR55A+ are exclusively designed for the ever expanding ‘Super Singles’ trailer market and include a solid shoulder construction that is said to “virtually eliminate” shoulder wear. The range offers a choice of five sizes from 385/55R22.5 up to 445/65R22.5. Another Super Single size is the SST066 pattern which is available in three sizes – 445/65R22.5, 425/65PR22.5 and 385/65R22.5.

The Sumo Firenza SSM10 pattern is exclusively for off-road applications and includes special grooves in both lateral and radial options, a unique tread design for traction on both wet and dry roads plus a self cleaning facility for mud and gravel. The tyre is currently available in three sizes, 315/80R22.5 18PR, 295/80R22.5 16PR and 13R22.5 18PR. The SST22 is an on and off road all position pattern that provides handling and traction and is available in size 13R22.5.

Finally the SHD48’s unique four rib block tread design is available in size 1000R20 and gives excellent traction on both wet and dry surfaces, maximises mileage in harsh conditions and offers an 18PR rating for high load carrying capacity.
