Maxxis Confirms Two More Performance/Tuning Show Appearances
Maxxis says it will promote its products to “around 75,000 performance car enthusiasts” expected to attend seven shows at which the brand will be present this summer. In addition to this weekend’s Ultimate Street Car show and the British Superbike Championship, Maxxis has today confirmed it will attend Total Vauxhall Live on 7 August and Ford Fair on 8 August). Maxxis is the exclusive tyre partner of Future, the special-interest media company behind some of the UK’s most successful performance events, magazines and websites. The deal guarantees Maxxis a prominent position within the Platinum Retail Village at both Ford Fair – billed as ‘Europe’s biggest and best Ford festival’ – and Total Vauxhall Live, a new Vauxhall circuit event.
Ford Fair takes place at Silverstone and gives fans the opportunity to drive the F1 Grand Prix circuit in their own Ford, take part in the Concours of standard and modified cars and check their car’s performance – a sprint test will establish the 0-60 time. Professional advice on engine mapping and tuning will be available after a session on the rolling road. More than 3,500 cars are expected in the Ford club displays and there will be track demonstrations from the Blue Oval Saloon Series and Formula Ford, the breeding ground of champions for the past 41 years.
Meanwhile, Castle Combe will host the first ever Total Vauxhall Live, which boasts BTCC legend John Cleland as the star attraction. Cleland won the series in 1989 and 1995 and will be on hand to sign autographs and chat about his exploits behind the wheel. A few lucky fans will get a hot lap with John in a Thorney Motorsport Astra VXR, while many are expected to jump at the chance to take their own Vauxhall out on to the circuit. The event will also feature special displays of race and rally cars, including ‘Rare and Endangered’ – an exhibition of iconic Vauxhalls – and a massive club display.
Maxxis will be highly visible at both events, operating from its striking hospitality unit, and, of course, the Maxxis Babes. Both events also have dedicated websites.
