Goodyear Awarded Los Angeles Transport Contract
Goodyear Tire & Rubber has been awarded a five-year contract to supply tyres and related services to the second largest transit bus fleet in the US. The deal with the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority – Metro, for short – places responsibility for some 2,550 buses that cover a total of more than 100 million miles each year in Goodyear’s hands.
Having previously served the transport operator between 1985 and 2006, the Metro is no stranger to Goodyear. Upon announcing the contract, the tyre maker’s general manager of mileage sales, John Landefeld, commented “Goodyear is pleased to be back at Metro. We look forward to once again providing quality tyres and service to Metro and its patrons.”
