Bike Magazine Makes Bridgestone Battlax BT-023 “Best Sports-Touring All-Rounder”
Bridgestone’s Battlax BT-023 tyre has been voted “the best sports-touring all-rounder” by Bike magazine six months after its launch. Bike, Britain’s best-selling motorcycle magazine, fitted sport-touring tyres from many leading manufacturers to its fleet of bikes and compared them, with Bridgestone coming out on top.
The Battlax BT-023 was praised for its “nice, neutral feel and soft feedback” and for delivering a better ride quality than its competitors. The conclusion from Bike was that “Bridgestone’s are the best sports-touring all-rounder. They offer almost as much grip as the sportier options, the stability of the more sedate alternatives and also the best ride quality.”
Andy Dingley, advertising and promotions manager at Bridgestone, comments: “The tyre is a very important launch for Bridgestone and to be awarded with the accolade of ‘the best sport-touring all-round tyre’ by such a prestigious publication is a huge achievement, in what is a very competitive market.”
Bridgestone’s Battlax BT-023 has a re-designed angle-groove pattern which contributes to its outstanding wear life and wet cornering and features Bridgestone’s proven Mono Spiral Belt (MSB) technology which provides top-level grip, shock absorption and straight line stability at high speeds. The rear tyre also has a 3 Layer Compound, which increases grip through corners. The centre compound has a wide contact area, adding stability and smoothness when cruising, resulting in what manufacturer and magazine alike describe as a confident ride. Bridgestone has also developed the tyre to extend to larger bikes with a GT specification for heavier touring bikes available.
