Bandvulc Tyre Contracts Celebrates 10th Anniversary, 1 Millionth Order
Bandvulc Tyre Contracts (BTC), the well-known independent retreader’s tyre management arm, has celebrated the authorisation of its 1 millionth order number. The firm celebrated the significant milestone alongside BTC’s 10th anniversary in July.
“BTC’s success bears testimony to the commitment and hard work of the in-house team and also our service providers. We would like to express our thanks for their continued support and collaboration. At the rate we’re going we should reach our 2 millionth order number in half the time – somewhere in 2015,” Kevin McPherson, BTC Manager, commented.
Director Ryan O’Connell added: “Thanks also to the Bandvulc production team for supplying high quality, environmentally sustainable products to our service providers and clients.” Bandvulc has placed significant technological investment into BTC over the past few years including bespoke tyre management software [called Galahad] and offsite disaster recovery facilities. “We are pleased to say these developments have further enhanced BTC’s unique offering, helping us to differentiate ourselves from the competition. We are planning further IT investment including online reporting which underpins our continued efforts to be the first choice for fleet tyre management.”
The news of the millionth order milestone follows the restructuring of the company’s telesales department at the end of the first quarter of this year, a move that was designed to provide improved services to its customer base. In practical terms the company reports that this means its now has a “seamless information flow between departments” – namely the company’s exclusive UK distribution of the Fulda tyre brand and BTC – in order to manage sales activity. Looking at the scale the company now operates it is clear why such a “seamless information flow” would be necessary. In conjunction with BTC, Bandvulc’s Tyre Support Unit (TSU) manages over 100,000 truck and trailers.
The latest achievement rounds off a very successful first half of 2010 for the Bandvulc Group, which already holds ISO 14001:2004 (Environmental) and ISO 9001:2008 (Quality) accreditations. During the last year the company has been named as: Finalist in the Motor Transport Customer Care Awards 2010; Winner of the Motor Transport Low Carbon & Efficiency Awards 2009; Finalist in the Sunday Times Best Green Companies 2009 and Winner of the DEBI (Devon Environmental Business Initiative) Carbon Reduction Award 2009.
Founded at the turn of the millennium BTC (Bandvulc Tyre Contracts) provides bespoke reports and packages to individual customer needs and has established itself as a key player in the UK truck tyre business. In recent years the firm has established a particularly strong foothold in the supermarket delivery fleet tyre supply business, which has played an important part in the overall company’s growth. The firm also supplies other so-called blue-chip fleets. Since its establishment 10 years ago, BTC’s turnover has increased to more than £20 million per annum, a level that it has been able to consistently maintain for the last few years.
