Michelin Receives Ferrari Technology Award

The ninth Podio Ferrari awards – the annual awards recognising Ferrari's global partners and suppliers, took place on July 14. In total five awards – Ferrari Technology, Ferrari Innovation, Italian Excellence and the President’s Award together with a Special Award for Sustainable Energy – were presented to companies that distinguished themselves for their technical and technological excellence, innovation and product development in partnership with Ferrari. The ceremony was attended by Ferrari chairman Luca di Montezemolo, CEO, Amedeo Felisa and the Scuderia Ferrari drivers, Felipe Massa and Giancarlo Fisichella.

This year the Ferrari Technology Award went to Michelin for “the outstanding contribution to product development and performance for GT cars.” The award was presented by Amedeo Felisa to Gilles Colas des Francs, marketing director worldwide OE at Michelin for cars and light vehicles.

As part of its partnership with Ferrari, Michelin has developed ultra high performance tyres specifically for the 599 GTO. “It means recognition of a long time of dedication together, it means a long investment in innovation,” commented Mr. Colas des Francs after receiving the award.
