Michelin North America Launches Uniroyal Winter Range
In North America Michelin is gearing up to launch a new Uniroyal winter tyre, the Tiger Paw Ice & Snow II. Scheduled for release on August 1, the new passenger car range will be available in 29 sizes, nine of which are Tiger Paw Ice & Snow I designs previously only available in Canada. Michelin describes the Tiger Paw Ice & Snow II as a tyre “provides both durability and reliability for driving in severe winter conditions at an affordable price.”
“The tyre is designed to perform in all weather conditions, but excels in cold, icy, wet and snowy weather,” said Andy Koury, winter category manager. “We used the latest technology to help the tyre maintain adhesion and flexibility in low temperatures, thus improving its cold weather grip.”
The Tiger Paw Ice & Snow II is moulded for studs to enhance ice traction and meets the Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) severe snow traction performance requirements. Also built-in is a highly siped tread surface, deep tread grooves and a winter adapted tread compound. The tyre also includes computer-optimised variable pitch tread elements synchronised to reduce noise for a quieter winter drive.
At the heart of every Tiger Paw tyre is Uniroyal’s signature DuraShield construction, a combination of features designed to give durability, dependability and performance. Other key aspects include high density casing, dual-compound tread, high strength sidewalls and high strength beads.
