Manbat Reaches Out To The Tyre Trade
Manbat is exhibiting at Brityrex 2010 in Manchester this October with the express intention of making the tyre trade aware of the excellent profit opportunities that battery sales offer the tyre industry. Manbat’s marketing manager, Myles Pemberton explained: “Many sectors of the aftermarket do extremely well out of selling batteries, but the tyre trade lags far behind. However, if shouldn’t be this way because of the sheer number of vehicles, each of which is a genuine sales opportunity, that pass through the average fast-fit on a daily basis.”
According to Pemberton, the purpose of exhibiting at Brityrex is to speak with tyre professionals and explain how they can start selling batteries if they don’t offer them at the moment, or “how simple it is to increase sales and therefore revenue,” if they currently only sell a few.
Pemberton continued: “…for those businesses looking to develop battery sales, it is wise to source batteries from reputable distributors and go for established brands. Manbat supplies thousands of batteries to factors and battery specialists with a wide range of high quality brands…In addition to batteries, there are also great margins to make on associated products such as battery chargers and DC/AC invertors.”
Lucas motorbike battery opportunities
Manbat’s portfolio of brands includes VARTA, Lucas, Yuasa, Odyssey, Optima and Numax. Lucas is a major aftermarket brand and as part of its rejuvenation under the stewardship of Manbat, the product range is being extended further to include Lucas motorcycle batteries.
According to the company, the Lucas Motorcycle range of batteries caters for virtually every motorcycle application, from road and sport to scooters. It also covers many motorcycle related applications such as ATV’s, jet-ski and snowmobiles. The range covers conventional flooded, VRLA sealed and high performance Gel Liquifix Batteries, with capacities from 2.3 to 32 Ah/20hr. Lucas battery chargers are also available in the Motorcycle range.
