Hankook Inaugurates Global Education Facility
Hankook Tire has established a Global Education Center in Korea, a facility it says is intended to “collaborate and foster the company's production system.” Located within the tyre maker’s Daejeon plant, the new centre is intended to enhance the skills and abilities of staff working in production and other positions at factories in Korea, China, Hungary, as well as in plants Hankook intends to set up in the future. Through the Global Education Center, Hankook Tire expects to strengthen collaboration between members of its global production network, thereby ensuring production quality is of a unified standard.
The centre can accommodate around 250 trainees a day and has seven indoor and outdoor training areas. Hankook described the centre as being equipped with the latest educational materials and technology and a large auditorium, a computer room, a lounge and trainee accommodation. The indoor training area has practice rooms where training on various topics can be given using videos and miniature models. Facilities in use or soon to be installed in Hankook’s factories are located in the outside area for practical training purposes.
“The Global Education Center has been established to enhance creative collaboration and interaction between local personnel,” said Jae-Ryong Yoon, executive vice president of Production & Engineering Division at Hankook Tire. “The centre is expected to play a pivotal role in standardising the high-quality level of Hankook Tire to provide cutting-edge products to all our global customers.”
