VMI Appoints Harm Voortman as CEO
Rubber and tyre industry equipment manufacturer VMI Group has appointed HJ (Harm) Voortman as the company’s new president and chief executive officer. Voortman takes over on 1 July 2010 and succeeds JJ (Coos) Spanjer who held this position since 1992.
Harm Voortman has been employed by VMI since 2004 when he joined the company as manager of its projects department. In 2007 he was appointed as president sales and projects, responsible for all commercial activities within the VMI Group. In his new role as CEO of the VMI Group, Voortman will focus on the company’s commercial and research and development activities, while a the same time taking responsibility for all business matters for the CMI branches around the world – in Europe, Russia, USA, Brazil, China and Malaysia.
In parallel with Voortman’s appointment, Coos Spanjer has been appointed as CEO of the industrial manufacturing division of TKH, which includes the VMI Group. According to an official statement on the matter, this means “the knowledge and experience of Coos Spanjer continues to be available for VMI.”
