Reifen 2010 Opens with Record Numbers Expected
Tyrepress.com is visiting European Cultural Capital 2010 Essen, Germany for this year’s Reifen trade expo, which opened on 1 June at a ceremonial event with Germany’s ex-Federal Foreign Minister, Joschka Fischer. Messe Essen, the fair’s host states that it expects 600 exhibitors from 42 countries, representing a record number of participants, showing innovations for all things black and round (as well as chassis technology, garage equipment and vulcanisation. Reifen 2010 runs until Friday, 4 June.
The exhibition hall also states that the subjects of safety and ecology are “forming the defining keywords in the tyre sector,” with more environmentally friendly developments to fulfill consumers’ wishes and statutory regulations at the forefront of many exhibitors’ presentations – including wet grip and the rolling noise of the tyre alongside rolling resistance. With the planned introduction of the EU-wide tyre label indicating these values, the customers should be put in a position to be able to buy their tyres in a more selective way according to their wishes and needs. Around 17,000 trade visitors from over 100 countries are expected to pass through Messe Essen.
