Hutchison “Makes History” on Dunlop’s D211GP at Isle of Man TT
The Isle of Man TT saw a first this weekend as Ian Hutchinson completed the first clean sweep of five out of five wins at the festival in its hundred-plus year history. The Senior TT saw Hutchinson take the lead after a gruelling few hours during a stopped race, claiming victory with Ryan Farquhar in second place, both of whom used Dunlop’s D211GP tyres.
The tyre manufacturer supplied the tyres for ten podium finishes, a lap record in the Supersport Race 2 at 127.836mph and a new lap record for the Superstock class with an average speed of 130.741 mph. This is the first ever lap over 130mph on a stock production machine using road legal tyres. Dunlop also reports that this is the second consecutive year in which Dunlop has achieved a clean sweep across all of the five TT races.
