Goodyear OTR Tyres Publicise Season’s Highlights, Including Ploughing Podium
Goodyear has been publicising its OTR successes, including an excellent performance in the World Ploughing Championship, the growth of its AGRI Club and the introduction of a new crane tyre. Andrew Mitchell Jnr, hailing from Forfar, Scotland, came second in the World Ploughing Championships in New Zealand earlier in the year, using Goodyear Optitrac DT806 tyres on his machine. Mitchell declared himself thrilled to have come in second and Goodyear says it was proud to have assisted this with their DT806 tyres fitted to his Ford tractor. Overall, there were ploughmen and women from over 30 countries competing at the 57th world championships.
The tyre giant has also seen over 400 farmers sign up to its AGRI Club, which offers members regular e-mail and postal newsletters as well as tyre offers and opportunities to join the Goodyear team at farming shows in the UK. New additions to the club have been recruited at agricultural shows across the country including the Cereals Show and LAMMA in January. Goodyear says it has and will continue to have a strong presence at more than 28 shows across the nation this year.
The Goodyear OTR team has also seen the introduction of a new crane tyre to its range – the Dunlop SP ER-50. The tyre has been developed to cope with high speed motorway driving as well as heavy loads, whilst providing good mileage and remaining reliable on long distance journeys. The tyre has reportedly received glowing testimonials from Coussens of Bexhill, having its official launch at the VertiKal Days show at Haydock Park Racecourse on 16 and 17 June.
“Highlighted above are just a few of the successes we have seen in the first half of 2010. Our aims for the second part of the year are to continue promoting our tyres at agricultural shows across the country including the Royal Welsh Show and Tillage North and South” said Phil Stanton, Goodyear’s Farm manager.
