ECI Confirms Tyrexpo Africa 2012 Dates

The fourth Tyrexpo Africa exhibition will take place from 6-8 March, 2012. Automotive aftermarket exhibition organiser ECI International also confirmed that the popular tyre trade and garage equipment show, Tyrexpo Africa, will return to Johannesburg at the Sandton Convention Centre. “2012 will be the fourth staging of Tyrexpo Africa and we are confident that the show will continue to grow and establish itself as the premier tyre and garage equipment trade event of its kind in southern Africa,” says ECI managing director Paul Farrant.

“Over the past six years we have been successful in encouraging suppliers from all sectors of the aftermarket to get behind the show, but we remain frustrated by the reluctance of the big-name tyre manufacturers to support it. Many visitors have expressed the view that manufacturers are missing an important opportunity to communicate directly with their customers. In their absence, Chinese tyre suppliers had the floor to themselves at the last event in March 2010,” he added.

The last exhibition in March of this year reported a five per cent increase in visitor numbers compared to 2008, as well as attracting a record number of 135 exhibitors from Africa and international countries.

Many exhibitors have already rebooked their stands for the 2012 show and equipment specialist Hofmann Megaplan has already gone public about its intention to support the show again in 2012. Managing director David Barendse, explains further: “Tyrexpo Africa ’10 was a great success for Hofmann Megaplan,” he says. “We would like to keep supporting the event and we will definitely be attending the next show in 2012.”
