Darren Meikle To Head Conti’s Irish Truck Tyre Sales

Continental Tyre Group has announced the appointment of Darren Meikle as truck sales manager based in Southern Ireland. According to the company, this new position has been created to provide customers with a dedicated account manager in their immediate area. Darren will be responsible for overseeing the requirements of dealers and fleets in the Republic of Ireland, working closely with colleague Noel McGrath who has responsibility for Northern Ireland and the ROI border counties.

Darren, 35, joins Continental with over 10 years experience in the transport industry originally working with Irish Shell (now Topaz Energy) within the Fuel Cards team and from there taking on responsibility as truck sales manager for Advance Pitstop.

Darren Meikle commented: “I’m really looking forward to the opportunity to get out and meet all our customers in the coming months. A large part of my role will be not only to make sure that customers understand the cost and environmental benefits of Continental’s product offering but also to provide them with ongoing technical help and monitoring of their fleet’s tyre performance.”

Continental’s sales and marketing director for Commercial Tyres, Arthur Gregg, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Darren to the team. His local knowledge of the market will be invaluable in ensuring our customers get the very best advice on product fitment and our ContiLifeCycle philosophy.”

Originally from Norwich, Darren has lived in Dublin for the last 10 years and is married with two children.
