Off-Road Range Gives Bandvulc a BIG Push
Two years after the company launched its flagship range of off-road orientated retreads, Devon-based Bandvulc is highlighting the recent rapid growth of its range of “BIG” tyres in a bid replicate the success of its larger than life products.
According to the company, Bandvulc’s BIG range is manufactured in all of the key sizes for this specialist market. The range features extra deep tread, sidewall protection and a compound especially suited to reduce penetrations and punctures. All this, say company representatives, combines to provide a robust, long lasting product in what is normally a high usage environment. The result? Despite difficult recessionary times, sales of the BIG range continued to expand in 2009 achieving an increase of over 50 per cent.
Philip West, group commercial director, Bandvulc commented: “While cheaper tyres remain an option, customers are still looking for value for money and tangible longevity, not short term benefits. The BIG range has now firmly established itself as a winner in this sector, delivering benefits to clients by way of cost per kilometre advantages combined with reduced downtime”.
When the going gets tough, Bandvulc call for the BDY3s
Following successful testing in various parts of the UK, the BDY3 range of tyres for the specialist construction sector was launched in 2009. For use in tough conditions with high mileage it uses a specially formulated compound to withstand aggressive hard working applications where tear resilience is an essential pre-requisite.
The tyre’s aggressive directional pattern reportedly offers a large 21.5mm tread depth and is said to provide exceptional grip on all surface conditions with proven mileage benefits where the environment permits. Furthermore the BDY3’s rugged shoulders minimise operational damage and, combined with Bandvulc’s expertise in profile and compound design, offers outstanding reliability whatever the challenge.
“Taking note of our customers’ needs our independence enables us to produce bespoke products, and ultimately deliver results back to their businesses. Already a huge success, the BIG range has changed buying patterns from a low cost throw-away product to one which delivers cost advantages as well as environmental savings – both of which are benefits to our customers. The BDY3 looks set to match the success of the BIG,” Phillip West added.
