MWS Wins £20,000 of Xlite Wheel Orders
Following its official unveiling at this month’s Truckfest, Motor Wheel Service Distribution reports that it has received orders in excess of £20,000 for its xlite range of forged aluminium commercial vehicle wheels. According to the company, companies such as J E Douglas & Son, Ball Trucking and Paul Stewart Transport have all taken delivery of new product, while several other haulage and coach operators have expressed a serious interest in future purchases.
xlite wheels, are reportedly five times stronger and 40 per cent lighter than the standard steel equivalent, are forged from a single aluminium billet using a computerised numeric control machine. They are available in 17.5,19.5 and 22.5 inch sizes. The product is offered with three finishes – machined, polished and xbrite – with the latter using a special coating which means lower maintenance, minimal cleaning and a lasting shine. Other added benefits are said to include unique safety features, reduced vibration and longer wear on surrounding parts.
John Ellis, managing director at Motor Wheel Service, said: “The response to the xlite range of products at Truckfest has been overwhelming, with many visitors warmly welcoming a truly innovative product to the marketplace. As every commercial vehicle operator is well aware, every penny counts, and the need for extra payloads, improved mileage and reduced CO² emissions are imperative.”
