Livingston Autoparts Opens Parts e-shop
Livingston Autoparts, one of the largest independent distributors of motor components in Scotland, has launched a new e-shop to support its expansion into retail parts and accessories sales. The new website features over 400,000 products including spare parts, accessories, car care, consumables and tools. Customers are able to browse categories with full-colour photographs or use the integrated VRM catalogue to identify products. The e-shop is open 24/7, and customers can place secure orders using credit cards or PayPal for next day delivery.
The e-shop is powered by MAM Software’s Autonet Retail e-commerce solution and is directly connected to Livingston’s MAM Autopart business management software. This streamlines website maintenance and keeps it in sync with the company’s existing factoring operation. Product and price updates performed at its head office are automatically uploaded to the e-shop, and all orders raised online are transferred back to the distribution centre for processing.
Commenting on the launch, Chris Burnside, Livingston’s Sales Director said, “The launch of our new website marks an important milestone in the company’s diversification strategy. We are supplementing our existing motor factor operation by expanding our business into both distribution and retail markets. The new e-shop complements our ‘bricks and mortar’ store and allows us to extend our reach to online shoppers from Scotland and afar.
“We liked the idea of a simple solution – a one-stop-shop for managing both our online and offline operations” Chris Burnside continued. “Our new e-shop connects directly to the MAM Autopart system we already use to manage our trade counter sales and power our distribution ordering portal. This made it much easier to integrate the new online channel into our existing business model and simplifies the ongoing maintenance of products and prices throughout the company.”
