BKT Appoints Kirkby Tyres as Official Distributor
After many years of association with the Alliance and Double Coin brands, Kirkby Tyres reports that the company is “delighted to welcome BKT into the family for OE and aftermarket replacement.” With the head office on a five acre site next to John Lennon airport in Liverpool, offices in Scotland, Ireland and China, the 62 year old Kirkby Tyres recently embarked on an expansion programme. As a result the company has undergone recruitment and organisational changes in several all areas, from marketing to technical support.
One such appointment is that of Ilan Goldstone who has taken on the role of Alliance and Double Coin brand manager. A BSc Hons management graduate, he reportedly has extensive experience in the automotive industry. “As a company I believe we are in one of the best positions in the market. With Alliance gradually moving production to India it’s exciting times, the range will be bigger and better and of course, even more competitive.”
In addition, Dave Richardson joined Kirkby Tyres in March 2009 as BKT product manager. Richardson has 25 years experience in the tyre industry, working in all sectors from car to OTR
“I have sold the BKT product for the last 10 years. It is one of the premier manufacturers of off highway tyres. They offer a very wide range which covers agricultural, industrial, earthmover, ATV and turf care applications. Carrying the full range of BKT has really strengthened our truly comprehensive product range. The turf and ATV products have already proved to be a winner with our vast customer base. We look forward to a long term business relationship with BKT.”
Kirkby Tyres also welcomed Steve Bennett, Mike Keegan and Peter Hodges to the sales managerial team.
“As well as the dedicated marketing team, more reps on the road and dedicated product managers, a state of the art show trailer has been purchased to raise awareness of all their brands. This is also complemented by the new on-line ordering system giving customers the ability to view, stock, price and availability 24 hours a day seven days a week,” the company said in a statement.
