Win World Cup Tickets with Conti Online Game
Those with a presence on Facebook are being given the chance to leave their virtual world behind for a few days and enjoy the live action of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa. Official World Cup sponsor Continental AG has launched an interactive online game that gives football fans from around the world the opportunity to win prizes associated with the much anticipated event, and all one needs to participate is to be registered with the popular social media platform.
The name of the online game is ContiTireKick, and until April 30 players can compete against one another and determine the best “online kickers” and “level designers” without additional registration beyond their Facebook account. A total of 200 prizes are in the offing, including the ‘holy grail’ of 15 pairs of tickets for a group match, quarter-final match or even the final, together with a three-day trip to South Africa including flights, accommodation, transfers and a side programme.
“Facebook has developed into the leading social media platform. In order to reach the many soccer fans amongst the users directly, we decided to run the game exclusively as an interactive Facebook application,” explains Dirk Rockendorf, head of eBusiness for Passenger and Light Truck Tires. “On the one hand, we also reach the younger, Internet-savvy users; on the other hand, the application spreads like wildfire because the participants can easily invite their Facebook friends and other Internet users to play ContiTireKick or to create their own levels using the normal applications.”
The two best players will each receive two Conti premium tickets for the final on July 11, 2010 in Johannesburg. Those securing third to one hundredth place will go into a draw for two Conti premium tickets for the quarter-final match on July 2, 2010 in Johannesburg. In addition, the two best level designers will win two Conti premium tickets each for the final on July 11, 2010 in Johannesburg. Third to twenty-fifth place level designer winners will go into a draw for two Conti premium tickets for the quarter-final match on July 2, 2010 in Johannesburg. Furthermore, all participants will go into another draw for six pairs of Conti premium tickets for a group match in Johannesburg, 75 official match balls from Adidas and 100 vuvuzelas.
ContiTireKick started with ten levels offered by Continental. Since all players can create their own levels that are then automatically open to all other players, more than 35,000 players have already taken part creating almost 4,500 additional levels. Players can get the ball rolling at the www.ContiTireKick.com website.
