TyreSafe Offers Puncture Repair Promo for Bike Tyre Safety Month
As part of its ongoing commitment to raising public awareness of tyre safety, TyreSafe is giving away 20 motorcycle tyre puncture repair kits as part of April’s bike tyre safety month. The promotion is open to all new subscribers to TyreSafe’s free monthly e-newsletter during April, with their details entered into the prize draw. Winners will be selected randomly at the end of the month.
Bike tyre safety month runs throughout April and aims to educate motorcyclists about the importance of correct tyre care and maintenance. In 2008 the number of motorcycles involved in an accident where illegal, defective or under-inflated tyres rose by 28 per cent to a three-year high of 88 accidents. Additionally VOSA figures show that tyre defects contributed to nearly 75 motorcycles failing their MoT tests every single day.
“In the spring many motorcyclists take their bikes out for the first ride of the year,” explains Stuart Jackson, chairman, TyreSafe. “Punctures can pose a significant safety hazard on these rides and leave riders stranded in remote locations to wait for a recovery service. These handy kits can provide a temporary fix to punctures, minimising disruption and inconvenience.”
The kits provide a temporary repair solution for punctures up to 4mm in diameter in tubeless type motorcycle tyres, allowing riders to continue their journey via their nearest replacement tyre fitting centre. Repairs can be made without demounting the tyre from the rim and, with the use of three gas cartridges, tyres can be inflated to their normal service pressure.
