Joschka Fischer to Open this Year’s Reifen Show
Visitors to 26th Reifen Show in Essen will have the chance to hear former German federal foreign minister Joschka Fischer speak on the subject of “Economic Growth and Ecological Responsibility” at the ceremonial opening of Reifen 2010, the evening before the show proper begins.
In addition visitors to Reifen can look forward to a “high profile” supporting programme. For example Bundesverband Reifenhandel und Vulkaniseur-Handwerk e.V. (BRV – Federal Association of the Tyre Trade and the Vulcanisers' Skilled Trade), the ideal sponsor of the trade fair, has recruited top experts and well-known personalities for its events.
It all starts with Professor Kurt Biedenkopf, former minister-president of the German state of Saxony. Within the framework of the BRV members’ meeting on the day before Reifen, he will present proposals for sustainable politics under the title – “What Germany Needs Now”. He will be followed by Professor Willi Dietz, Director of Institut für Automobilwirtschaft (Institute for Automotive Management) at the German University for Economics and Environment. He will give an overview of the situation of the automobile sector in the spring of 2010.
Furthermore, the BRV will invite the visitors to informative specialist seminars where experts from the sector will pass on their knowledge. The lecture delivered by Manfred Müller, Air Traffic Control Manager at Lufthansa, will be entitled The Human Being, a Safety Risk. Erich-Norbert Detroy, Germany’s price negotiation expert, will explain how demanding price negotiations can be mastered successfully in stiff competition. Additional seminars will be devoted, amongst other subjects, to dealing with difficult customers, to proper tyre repair and to technical information.
