European Launch for Toyo Proxes Ranges

Toyo Tire Europe has announced the Spring 2010 European launch for two of the company’s tyre ranges. The Proxes C1S and Proxes T1 Sport are both scheduled for release in this region, thereby strengthening Toyo’s high performance offering here. The Proxes C1S is described as a UHP comfort tyre designed for powerful executive cars. Toyo states that the Proxes C1S blends a refined, quiet ride with outstanding high speed manoeuvrability plus reduced rolling resistance.

The tyre features an asymmetric tread containing two functional zones – the inside of the tyre caters for traction, braking and ride comfort, while the outside  edge deals with handling where high speed agility is required. Toyo further states that the Proxes C1S features silent wall grooves, noise protection sheets and wide edge plies – features that combine to reduce pattern noise by 67 per cent at 100kmh. Wider ribs and Dimple grooves are designed to enhance high speed stability while improving ride comfort.

The Proxes C1S will be initially available in 37 sizes up to Y speed rating. The range will extend from 15 to 20-inch fitments and in profiles from 65 series to 30 series.

The Proxes T1 Sport is a reference sports tyre that Toyo says was developed in response to demand for the “ultimate handling tyre for powerful saloons and sports cars.” The manufacturer reports the new tyre offers class leading handling on both wet and dry roads. The asymmetric tread Proxes T1 Sport features a dual tread compound; the inside compound is focused on traction and braking while the outside compound is designed to deliver performance while cornering. Furthermore, Toyo reports that a new bonding agent within the tread rubber improves the tyre’s handling by giving the compound exceptional rigidity under high loading when cornering and braking. Additionally, the manufacturer states that a wider profile design featuring a revised casing profile gives the Proxes T1 Sport even contact pressure during cornering and braking.

The Proxes T1 Sport will be initially available in 51 sizes from 16 to 20-inch fitments and in profiles from 55 series to 30 series.
