Bridgestone Establishes Vietnam Tyre Sales Company
Bridgestone Corporation subsidiary Bridgestone Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. (BSAP) has established a new tyre sales company for the Vietnamese market. Based in Ho Chi Minh City, the new company is named Bridgestone Tire Sales Vietnam Limited Liability Company (BSTVN) and is 95 per cent BSAP owned. The remaining five per cent ownership is held by Mitsubishi Corporation. Established with a capital of US$700,000, BSTVN employs 18 staff and is headed up by Tetsuro Chiba.
Explaining the decision to establish a sales centre in this market, Bridgestone states that it views Indochina as one of its most strategic growth areas. As one of Indochina’s transportation and logistics hubs, Vietnam is seeing stable and continuous economic growth as well as a steady increase in tyre demand. Bridgestone expects that demand in this area will continue to grow as the region’s transportation network continues to expand, connecting Indochina from the east to the west and the north to south through Vietnam. The establishment of a sales company in this promising market is intended to fulfil the Bridgestone Group’s goal of strengthening its operations in Vietnam and Indochina by providing that market with direct access to its products and services.
