4×4 Tyres
The market share held by 4×4 and SUV vehicles in the UK has been slowly but steadily declining since the peak year of 2005. In 2008 this sector accounted for 6.4 per cent of new vehicle registrations, with 136,525 SUV and 4x4s registered, and the SMMT reports that last year consumer preferences continued to shift towards smaller, economical cars at the expense of this sector. Nevertheless, the 4×4/SUV tyre market, with its above average margins, remains one of the more profitable consumer tyre areas and is therefore well represented by manufacturers. In March we bring you the latest information on this market segment.
Brand Recognition
The number of companies offering their own private and inclusive brand tyres has proliferated in recent years, to the extent that even the team at T&A, with their anorak-like eye for tyres, sometimes come across a previously unseen brand name. To help you keep track of what’s out there, next month Tyres & Accessories is going public on private brands. Pick up your March edition to read all about it.
Retreading Special
In the March issue of Tyres & Accessories we are again publishing our 32 page “Retreading Special” supplement.
