Test Praise for Hankook Radial RA14 Wet Performance
Hankook is the recipient of more tyre test kudos, this time from Europe’s largest specialist recreational vehicle magazine, Germany’s Promobil. The publication has released the results of its annual tyre test (Issue 4/2010), and has awarded first place to Hankook Radial RA14. The Promobil evaluation examined ten brand-name tyres currently available in the popular 235/65 R16C size, which is suitable for vehicles including the VW Crafter and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter (the second of these was used as the test vehicle during the comparative evaluation).
A particular strength identified during the test was the Radial RA14’s performance during wet surface braking – in Hankook’s words, the tyre was able to “leave its assembled competition in the dust.” The Korean manufacturer reports the other test categories also showed no weakness in the light truck tyre: “From hydroplaning and handling on a wet surface to dry surfaces, the RA14 delivers balanced performance at a superior level. Its rolling comfort was also convincing to testers. Plus, the Hankook tyre was able to score further points when it came to rolling resistance.”
“With this independent test result, we are able to demonstrate once more that we can offer our customers a full portfolio of top-quality products,” said Jin-Wook Choi, Hankook Tire executive vice-president and head of the manufacturer’s European arm. “Our tyres always garner recommendations from independent testing organisations. The Hankook brand, now more than ever, stands for a future-oriented range of models that covers nearly any vehicle category, from micro-cars to super sports cars, from people carries to luxury saloons and from small vans to heavy trucks – all with modern, safe, long-lasting and, last but not least, environmentally friendly tyres.”
