Rimcity Claims to Offer Leading Range of American Wheels
Rimcity Wheels, purportedly the only authorised UK dealers for Giovanna wheels – as showcased on world famous tuning programme “pimp my ride,” is offering the new 2010 range of wheels from Giovanna, Gianelle and GFG. In addition, sales of what company reports was its biggest selling wheel of 2009 (the Giovanna Dalar) are said to be “still going strong.”
Some of Rimcity’s latest sales include custom painted Lamborgini Orange Range Rover Sport fitted with chrome 24-inch Giovanna Dalars (January 2010); a white Bentley GTC fitted with matte black Giovanna Dalar wheels (February 2010); and a Matte black Porsche Cayenne Turbo S fitted with Matte Black Gianelle Santorini with a polished lip in 24-inch (February 2010).
One of the highlights of the GFG forged wheel range is Scudeteria wheel, which now comes in a 20-inch fitment designed to fit all F430 models, available in chrome, black, machined, and coloured finishes. Then there is the GFG California, which is said to fit “any Ferrari” or similar and many more.
Established in 2004, Rimcity Wheel is based in Wellingborough near Northampton. The company aims to ship in-stock items in less than seven days (apparently quickest time of any wheels supplier in the UK can manage from America). “Alloy wheels are usually here next day if ordered before 13:00,” according to company literature.
In addition to sales to dealers and direct to consumers, Rimcity also supplies main dealers representing “Chrysler, BMW, Porsche, Mercedes and many more not to mention numerous tuning companies.”
Part of the WheelClub USA, reportedly one of the largest wheel buying groups in the world, Rimcity offers Giovanna, GFG, TIS, DUB, Foose, AMG, Oasis, Omega and Gianelle wheels. The company also claims to offer “cast iron” (shouldn’t that be aluminium?) after sales support: “Nobody else in the UK can touch us on price or service on any American wheel.”
Operating towards the top end of the market, Rimcity sells on the basis of a quality package, which includes lifetime structural warranty and one year chrome warranty. But not wheels damaged by cleaners, road salt, brake dust or general misuse or neglect. “You wouldn’t buy an Armani suit then go down the local market to buy some shoes. We believe the same ethic applies to wheels, un-branded wheels simply will not do justice to a £60,000 Range Rover or £150,000 Ferrari,” company representatives say on their website.
