New Micra Debuts with Maxxis Tyres
The 2010 model Nissan Micra was displayed at the recent Geneva Motor Show and will eventually be sold in 160 countries. Production of the all-new small car, known as the March in some markets, commenced in Thailand on March 12. Tyre manufacturer Maxxis states it is “proud to supply original equipment tyres for this fine Nissan model” in the Thailand and Japan markets.
The Maxxis products are fitted to the Micra in sizes 175/60R15 81H MA307 and 165/70R14 81S MA307, and are produced by the company’s Thailand plant. Nissan intends to produce 20,000 Micra units at its factory in Thailand during the 2010 financial year. Sales of the Maxxis fitted March start in Thailand and Japan in March. European Micra sales are planned to begin in November, however it is not yet known which manufacturer will supply OE tyres for vehicles sold in this region.
