Goodyear Dunlop Names George Rietbergen As New UK MD
Goodyear Dunlop Tires Europe has appointed George Rietbergen as managing director UK and Ireland. Rietbergen will move to Birmingham to take over from Mark Brickhill, who has been promoted to vice-president of the company’s Consumer Business Unit EU. The appointment means Rietbergen is Goodyear Dunlop UK and Ireland’s third managing director since 2004.
Mark Brickhill, who joined Goodyear Dunlop from Procter & Gamble in 2006, will move to the company’s Brussels office and continue to report to Arthur De Bok, president EMEA, who stated: “Since joining the company, Mark has provided significant leadership in the reorganization of the UK business. This experience as well as his strong marketing background will be beneficial in the new role as we go through significant market changes”.
George Rietbergen is currently general manager Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg and is said to have developed the benelux cluster into “a very customer focused, efficient and team orientated organization.” Rietbergen joined Goodyear Dunlop from KLM Royal Dutch Airlines as director, e-business in 2001. In 2003 he was promoted to retail director, responsible for over 1800 franchised stores in Europe. In 2005, he was appointed general manager for the benelux cluster.
