Fire Brigades Choose Bridgestone
Increasing numbers of UK fire services are choosing Bridgestone UK for their front line appliances. According to the company, fire services in Essex, West Sussex, East Sussex and Hampshire have all selected Bridgestone products due to the “enhanced performance, and improved life of their tyres.” Many fire services are changing to use the popular R249 truck tyre. Bridgestone UK’s popularity is said to be still on the rise, with more UK fire services either testing or using the company’s tyres.
Essex Fire Service has signed a 12-month agreement and has recently taken delivery on the first of five new Hydraulic Platforms, on Scania chassis. These are the first of their type in the country, and have converted to Bridgestone, at the request of the Fire Service.
After extensive trials, against long established suppliers, testing vehicle handling, tyre performance and life expectancy, the Fire Service are now also ordering their new Volvo P-Series appliances on Bridgestone tyres. Volvo UK offers Bridgestone tyres as standard in the fire market.
Peter Windmill, OE Sales Manager said: “We are thrilled to be working with increasing numbers of fire services across the UK. I have no doubt that our quality products shall provide them with improved appliance handling, reliability and enhanced performance, combined with great value for money.”
