Double Coin First Chinese Manufacturer to Achieve US SmartWay Verification

Double Coin Holdings has become the first China based tyre manufacturer to have one of its commercial truck tyres included on the US Environmental Protection Agency’s ‘SmartWay’ list of verified technologies. The tyre in question, the FT105, is a trailer tyre from Double Coin’s low rolling resistance range, which also includes the FR605 and FD405.

According to Aaron Murphy, vice president of the China Manufacturers Alliance (CMA), distributor of the Double Coin brand in the US, Double Coin and the CMA are committed to leading the competition when it comes to research and development on products from China. This dedication to innovation, he added, leads to benefits for Double Coin customers. “Our customers have reiterated that the Double Coin brands are extremely important to the profitability of their business and now this verified technology allows more end users to benefit from the value provided by Double Coin.”

The FT105 programme resulted from a collaborative effort between CMA staff in China and staff in North America. “The FT105 was designed from scratch to meet requirements of the several markets,” said Murphy. “In both the replacement and OEM channels, this type of product from Double Coin was required by the most progressive organisations as a means to bring additional value to their customers.”
