Continental Launches Romanian Language Press Portal

If you prefer to read your tyre industry news in Romanian, Continental has a treat in store for you. On March 22 the tyre and automotive systems manufacturer launched its Romanian language corporate press portal, www.media.continental-corporation.ro. At this site – or portalul de presă, as the locals may say – media representatives and other interested parties will find information in Romanian about the corporation’s activities, financial results, products and know-how. Contact data for all of the company’s operations in Romania is also available.

“In launching this press portal, our main target is to provide Romanian journalists professional support, in their native language, for their research work. We are a global corporation and we want to present individual solutions for communication in every market. As our activities take on an ever greater international scope, our media communication must adapt accordingly,” said Hannes Boekhoff, vice president of Conti’s Corporate Media Relations.

“The interest of the Romanian media and general public increased as the corporation expanded its activities there. The launching of the press portal in Romanian is the answer to a growing number of requests from Romania for information about the activities of the corporation,” added Ildikó Kovàcs, who is responsible for International Media Relations. In the more than ten years that Continental has been in Romania, it has expanded its activities substantially, investing some 370 million euros in the country. The company currently employs more than 7,800 staff at eight production units and three research and development centres in the cities of Sibiu, Carei, Arad, Iasi and Timişoara. The last of these locations is home to the Continental’s tyre production in Romania; the company manufactures passenger car and light commercial vehicle tyres here.
