Bridgestone Gets P&D Units SmartWay Certified

Bridgestone Americas has added to its collection of EPA SmartWay certified medium truck radials – with the first two P&D tyres approved, reports Tire Review.

“Until now, most tyres approved for SmartWay-certified vehicles were long-distance radials, which aren’t built for the high-scrub environments encountered by beverage hauling, package and parcel delivery, grocery, food service, and other P&D operations,” said Chris Hoffman, manager of TBR and retread product marketing. “Adding the R260F and R250F to the verified technology list allows SmartWay fleets to specify the right tyre for the job.” 

Plus, Hoffman said, the tyres are both California Air Resources Board compliant. “which is great news for regional and P&D fleets running in California.”
